Units of measure

Units of measure let you buy and sell products in different units with accurate automatic conversion.

Path: Inventory ← Configuration ← Units of Measure ← Units of Measure

1. Enable Units of Measure in Inventory ← Configuration ← Settings.
2. Open Units of Measure Categories to see how compatible units are grouped.
3. Click New to create a category (e.g. "Duration").
4. Add units inside the category and set each unit's Type relative to the reference.
5. Define one Reference unit per category as the conversion base.
6. To add a unit like Months, add a row, choose "Bigger than reference", and enter the correct Ratio.
7. Verify the conversion ratio carefully.
8. Save, then link the new unit to products from the product form.
